What is our approach?
Rights based approach
Through giving the populace we serve greater opportunities to participate in shaping the decisions that impact on their human rights we will help vulnerable to organise and mobilise for action, build capacity and develop rights awareness so that they become conscious of their marginal position and the reasons underlying it. We will inspire other likeminded stakeholders within and outside the disability movement to vigorously hold Government and the private sector accountable but at the same time strategically supporting them to play their role, increasing the ability of those with responsibility for fulfilling rights to recognise and know how to respect those rights, and make sure they can be held to account.
Participatory Methodologies
In all our work, we will actively apply consultative, engaging and highly participatory methodologies. We will also strive to learn from other like-minded organisations as well as explore tested and conventional strategies to advance our objective in ways that enhance mutual ownership of accountability, learning, knowledge building and promote critical reflection to the realization of our desired outcomes.
Partnership approach
As we strive to nurture and strengthen partnerships, we will at all times be guided by our mission and our embraced values, both of which urge us to employ the principles of mutuality in our work, binding us to the observance of universal standards of reciprocal respect, professionalism, equality and equity all through, we will promote the principles of accountability and encourage regular assessments to monitor our partnerships and what it bring to our efforts in the realisation of a dignified lives for the people we serve.
Community Involvement and local Advocacy approach
Local advocacy is a key part of MN Bumali Foundation Development Programming approach which targets policies and practices that affect the daily lives of vulnerable populace while empowering communities to make sure government and other authorities deliver on their promises for the citizen's well-being. We shall use important information, learning and stories from the local community when working in advocacy at the grass root and national level and emphasises citizen voice and action and Child
protection advocacy.
